Applications

The Belimo 6-Way CCV is ideally suited for:

The valve enables a single coil to be used for both heating and cooling operation, eliminating the need for separate control valves and actuators for each circuit.

By using only one actuator instead of two, the system requires less wiring, reduces installation costs, and simplifies building automation system (BAS/BMS) integration.

The bubble-tight shut-off design prevents mixing between hot and chilled water circuits, ensuring reliable operation and maximizing energy efficiency.

Operation

An integrated pressure relief function is incorporated into Port 2 of the valve.

This feature allows excess pressure within the terminal unit coil circuit to be safely relieved back to the supply loop through Port 1 when the valve is in the closed position.

Pressure buildup can occur when the coil is isolated from the system expansion vessel and the medium temperature changes. The integrated pressure relief mechanism protects the system without compromising performance.

Because the heating and cooling circuits remain hydraulically separated, no cross-flow occurs between the two loops.

For optimal performance, both heating and cooling circuits should share a common expansion vessel to maintain balanced system pressure and volume.
