- Cold: The automatic expansion vessel contains a small amount of water and remains in a static state (inactive).
- Warming Up: The water volume and system pressure increase. The system reacts to this process by opening the solenoid valve. Water flows into the pressureless expansion vessel. The water in the vessel is degassed due to the pressure reduction and the involvement of PALL rings.
- Full Power: By storing an increasing amount of water in the expansion vessel, the automatic expansion vessel keeps the system pressure highly stable. When the system is fully heated, the expansion vessel will be operating at full capacity.
- Cooling Down: The water volume and system pressure decrease. The degassed water is pumped from the pressureless expansion vessel back into the system. This helps restore the system's pressure.
- Topping-up: If the water level in the vessel drops to a critical level, an appropriate amount of water is slowly pumped into the system from the supply. This water will be degassed (by pressure and PALL rings) before flowing into the vessel.
