Thermal dispersion technology is based on the principle that the amount of heat absorbed by a fluid is proportional to its mass flow rate. Thermal dispersion flow measurement is performed using two temperature sensors and a heat source positioned within the flow stream. By measuring the thermal energy added to the flow and the corresponding change in temperature, the mass flow rate can be determined.
