The ONICON F-2600 Vortex Flow Meter is an inline vortex flow meter developed for direct mass flow measurement of saturated steam. The instrument combines vortex flow sensing with an integrated precision platinum RTD and temperature compensation, allowing it to calculate steam density and provide direct mass flow measurement without the need for a separate external flow computer.
The F-2600 is supplied with a 4–20 mA analog output for flow rate, a pulse output for totalization and a built-in user interface and display. The standard loop-powered version also includes HART communication. Optional configurations can incorporate internal pressure compensation, multiple analog outputs, BACnet or MODBUS serial communications depending on the selected model.
When correctly installed, ONICON specifies that the F-2600 can achieve saturated steam mass flow measurement accuracy exceeding 1.5% of reading in the most common pipe sizes. The meter is factory programmed and ready for operation upon delivery, while its built-in interface provides access to programming and self-diagnostic functions for commissioning and troubleshooting.
The F-2600 also incorporates advanced vortex signal processing. Its two-stage bluff body and sensor design improves signal sensitivity and operating range, while the sensor location helps protect the measurement components from pressure shocks and water hammer. Signal filtering further helps distinguish actual vortex signals from noise associated with piping vibration.
Although the F-2600 is primarily positioned by ONICON for saturated steam measurement, the F-2600/F-2700 platform can also be configured for mass or volumetric flow measurement of gases, liquids and steam depending on the selected configuration.
