The Belimo LMQ Series Quick Running Non-Spring Return Damper Actuators are engineered for rapid and accurate control of small air dampers in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Manufactured by Belimo Switzerland, the LMQ Series combines compact dimensions, intelligent electronic control, and ultra-fast response, making it an excellent choice for applications requiring high-speed airflow regulation.

Within HVAC systems, the actuator controls the opening and closing of air dampers that regulate fresh air, return air, exhaust air, and mixed air. Fast actuator response enhances ventilation efficiency, improves indoor air quality, and supports dynamic airflow control strategies in modern commercial buildings.

The LMQ Series delivers 4 Nm (35 in-lb) of output torque and is suitable for controlling dampers up to approximately 8.5 ft². The actuator family is available with constant operating times of 7, 10, 15, or 20 seconds, independent of load, ensuring consistent and reliable performance under varying operating conditions. Certain high-speed configurations provide an operating time of approximately 2.5 seconds for applications requiring exceptionally fast damper movement.

The LMQ Series supports both On/Off and Floating (3-point) control, allowing flexible integration into air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), ventilation systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS).

The actuator utilizes a high-efficiency brushless DC motor controlled by Belimo's proprietary Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). The ASIC continuously monitors actuator movement and incorporates Digital Rotation Sensing (DRS) technology to protect against overload and stall conditions. Once the required position is reached, power consumption is automatically reduced in holding mode, improving overall system energy efficiency.
