The Belimo GM Series Non-Spring Return Damper Actuators are engineered for precise and reliable control of large air dampers in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Manufactured by Belimo Switzerland, the GM Series combines high output torque, intelligent electronic control, and exceptional reliability, making it an ideal solution for demanding commercial and industrial ventilation applications.
Within an HVAC system, the actuator regulates the opening and closing of air dampers that control fresh air intake, return air, exhaust air, and mixed air. Accurate damper positioning improves indoor air quality, enhances occupant comfort, and optimizes the energy efficiency of HVAC equipment.
The GM Series delivers 40 Nm (360 in-lb) of output torque, making it suitable for controlling dampers up to approximately 90 ft². The product family includes the GM24A for 24 V AC/DC On/Off control, the GM24A-SR for 24 V AC/DC modulating control, and the GM230A for 100–240 V AC On/Off control, providing flexible solutions for a wide range of HVAC control systems.
A key feature of the GM Series is Belimo's proprietary Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology. The ASIC continuously monitors actuator operation and incorporates a Digital Rotation Sensing (DRS) function to prevent damage if the actuator reaches its mechanical stop or encounters an obstruction. In addition, the actuator automatically reduces power consumption while holding position, contributing to lower energy usage throughout the life of the system.
With a typical operating time of 150 seconds, the GM Series provides smooth and stable damper positioning for large ventilation systems.
