Foot Valves

A foot valve, also known as a pump suction valve or pump strainer valve, is commonly referred to in the industry simply as a foot valve. It is installed at the very beginning of a pump suction line, allowing water to pass through the foot valve before entering the pump and then flowing into the distribution piping system. Foot valves are typically available with threaded connections from DN15 to DN50 and flanged connections from DN50 to DN800. Threaded bronze and stainless steel foot valves, as well as flanged cast iron foot valves fitted with stainless steel strainers, are widely used in water supply, wastewater, HVAC, and fire protection systems. In most pumping systems, each pump is equipped with its own foot valve, making it an essential component of virtually every water piping system in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects. PGTECH supplies a comprehensive range of high-quality foot valves from leading EU and G7 manufacturers, providing reliable solutions for a wide variety of engineering applications. Because the foot valve is one of the most critical components in a pumping system, selecting a high-quality product is essential. A poorly manufactured foot valve can cause the pump to lose its prime, resulting in water loss, reduced system performance, and costly downtime. For long-term reliability and efficient operation, it is always advisable to choose a proven foot valve from a reputable manufacturer.
