The Belimo BFG Series Fire & Smoke Damper Actuators are specifically designed for controlling fire and smoke dampers in HVAC systems where reliable operation is critical for life safety. Manufactured by Belimo Switzerland, the global leader in HVAC actuator technology, the BFG Series is widely used to protect people and property in commercial buildings, hospitals, schools, hotels, airports, and industrial facilities.
As part of a building's HVAC system, the actuator controls the opening and closing of fire and smoke dampers during normal ventilation operation and emergency conditions. By ensuring rapid and dependable damper positioning, the BFG Series helps prevent the spread of smoke and fire through ventilation ductwork while supporting occupant safety and regulatory compliance.
The product range includes BFG24, BFG24-TN, and BFG24-TN-ST models operating on 24 V AC/DC, together with BFG230 and BFG230-TN models designed for 230 V AC systems. All models provide On/Off control and feature a mechanical spring return mechanism to ensure automatic fail-safe positioning during power loss.
The BFG Series delivers 11 Nm / 8.5 Nm output torque and is equipped with a continuous hollow shaft compatible with 12 × 12 mm square damper shafts, allowing quick and secure installation on standard fire and smoke dampers. Selected models incorporate integrated thermal sensors, providing additional protection for applications requiring temperature monitoring.
Typical operating time is approximately 140 seconds, while the spring return mechanism closes the damper in approximately 20 seconds, providing reliable fail-safe performance during emergency situations.
