The ONICON System-20 BTU Meter provides accurate and reliable measurement of thermal energy in heating and cooling systems. The system is designed with flexibility for different HVAC and hydronic applications, providing real-time information on energy, flow rate and temperature through the local display.
The System-20 can communicate directly with a Building Management System (BMS) or Building Automation System (BAS) via RS485 using BACnet® MS/TP or MODBUS® RTU protocols. This enables measured energy data to be integrated into centralized monitoring, energy management and building automation platforms.
In addition to communication capabilities, the System-20 supports configurable analog output, pulse outputs and auxiliary pulse inputs. These functions allow the meter to exchange data with other measurement devices and control systems while simplifying the integration of multiple energy-related measurements at the same location.
The System-20 can be configured with different ONICON flow measurement technologies, including inline, insertion and clamp-on flow meters. This provides flexibility when selecting the appropriate flow measurement method according to pipe size, installation conditions and project requirements.
For temperature measurement, the system can be supplied with ONICON's precision current-based temperature sensors or matched Platinum RTD sensor pairs. These options provide the temperature measurement required for accurate thermal energy calculations.
The integrated data logger records time-stamped energy and volume data together with operating status and other analytical information. Stored data can be accessed through BACnet® or MODBUS®, supporting energy analysis and historical performance monitoring.
The System-20 can also be field-programmed for use with water or water/glycol solutions, allowing it to support a broader range of chilled-water and hydronic applications.
Its bright backlit display and intuitive smart-button interface simplify configuration and operation directly at the meter without requiring dedicated configuration tools.
