The ONICON F-4300 Clamp-on Ultrasonic Flow Meter & Thermal Energy Measurement System is a high-accuracy solution for measuring hydronic water flow and thermal energy without making direct modifications to the existing piping system.

Using a pair of externally mounted ultrasonic sensors and advanced signal processing technology, the F-4300 measures flow through the pipe wall without requiring pipe cutting, welding or interruption of the existing flow. This makes the system particularly suitable for existing HVAC installations, retrofit projects and performance monitoring applications where shutting down the system is undesirable or impractical.

The F-4300 supports pipe sizes from ½" to 48", providing flexibility for a wide range of chilled water, hot water and hydronic system applications. The clamp-on sensor configuration also eliminates the pressure loss typically associated with inserting a primary flow element directly into the piping system.

The system is designed with optimized ultrasonic sensors and user-friendly hardware to provide stable measurement performance under different pipe conditions. Sensors can be configured according to the application and pipe characteristics to achieve a strong signal-to-noise ratio and reliable measurement.

For thermal energy measurement, the F-4300 combines flow measurement with temperature measurement to calculate thermal energy consumption in hydronic systems. This makes it suitable for monitoring HVAC energy performance, evaluating system operation and supporting energy management programs.

The F-4300 also features 128 MB of integrated data logging capacity, allowing measurement data to be stored for performance evaluation and baseline monitoring. This is particularly useful during HVAC retrofit projects where operators need to establish existing system performance before implementing upgrades.

The system supports RS485 communication with BACnet® MS/TP or MODBUS® RTU, allowing measured data to be integrated directly into BMS and BAS platforms for centralized monitoring and energy management.

The F-4300 is configured by ONICON based on the application information provided by the customer, helping simplify installation and reduce the amount of programming required in the field.
