The Belimo AF Series Spring Return Damper Actuators are designed to provide reliable control of air dampers in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Combining a compact housing with high torque output, the AF Series offers an ideal solution for commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and other ventilation applications where space-saving installation and dependable performance are essential.
Compared with the original AF generation, the latest AF Series features a housing that is approximately 25% smaller, while delivering more than 50% higher torque of 180 in-lb (10 Nm). The improved design also reduces power consumption and offers faster operating times, providing greater efficiency and enhanced system performance.
All AF Series actuators incorporate Belimo's MFT (Multi-Function Technology), allowing flexible configuration for various control signals and HVAC control systems. This simplifies system integration while enabling one actuator platform to support multiple applications.
The integrated mechanical spring return automatically returns the damper to its predetermined fail-safe position whenever power is interrupted, ensuring safe operation and protecting building ventilation systems during emergency conditions.
As part of an HVAC system, the actuator regulates the opening and closing of air dampers to control airflow throughout a building. By accurately positioning dampers, the actuator helps introduce fresh outdoor air, regulate indoor temperature, improve ventilation efficiency, and maintain occupant comfort.
