The Belimo LM Series Non-Spring Return Damper Actuators are engineered to provide reliable and accurate control of small and medium-sized air dampers in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Manufactured by Belimo Switzerland, the LM Series combines compact dimensions, intelligent electronic control, and maintenance-free operation, making it one of the most widely used actuator solutions for commercial HVAC applications.
As an essential component of an HVAC system, the actuator regulates the opening and closing of air dampers that control fresh air, return air, exhaust air, and mixed air. Accurate damper positioning helps improve indoor air quality, maintain occupant comfort, and optimize the energy efficiency of ventilation and air conditioning equipment.
The LM Series delivers 5 Nm (45 in-lb) of output torque, making it suitable for dampers up to approximately 11 ft². Designed for On/Off and Floating (3-point) control, the actuator provides dependable operation for a broad range of ventilation applications, including air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), and general building ventilation systems.
The actuator utilizes a high-efficiency brushless DC motor controlled by Belimo's proprietary Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). The ASIC continuously monitors actuator operation and incorporates Digital Rotation Sensing (DRS) technology to protect against overload and stall conditions. When the actuator reaches its target position, power consumption is automatically reduced in holding mode, improving overall system energy efficiency and extending actuator service life.
With a typical operating time of 95 to 150 seconds, the LM Series delivers smooth and stable damper movement while requiring virtually no maintenance. Its compact design, dependable performance, and Swiss engineering have made it a preferred choice for office buildings, hotels, hospitals, schools, shopping centers, and industrial HVAC installations worldwide.
