The Belimo AM Series Non-Spring Return Damper Actuators are engineered to provide dependable and accurate control of air dampers in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Manufactured by Belimo Switzerland, the AM Series combines robust mechanical performance with intelligent electronic control to deliver reliable airflow regulation in commercial and industrial buildings.
As an essential component of HVAC systems, the actuator regulates the opening and closing of air dampers that control fresh air intake, return air, exhaust air, and mixed air. Accurate damper positioning helps improve indoor air quality, maintain occupant comfort, optimize ventilation performance, and reduce overall energy consumption.
The AM Series delivers 20 Nm (180 in-lb) of output torque and is suitable for controlling dampers up to approximately 45 ft². Designed primarily for On/Off control, the actuator provides smooth and reliable operation for a wide range of ventilation and air handling applications.
A key advantage of the AM Series is Belimo's proprietary Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology. The integrated ASIC continuously monitors actuator movement and incorporates Digital Rotation Sensing (DRS) to protect the actuator against overload, mechanical blockage, and stall conditions. Once the required position is reached, the actuator automatically minimizes power consumption while holding position, improving overall system energy efficiency.
With a typical operating time of 95 to 150 seconds, the AM Series delivers stable and precise damper positioning while requiring virtually no maintenance throughout its service life.
