The Belimo BFN Series Fire & Smoke Damper Actuators are designed to provide reliable control of fire and smoke dampers in HVAC systems, helping protect both occupants and property during emergency situations. Manufactured by Belimo Switzerland, a global leader in HVAC actuator technology, the BFN Series is widely used in commercial buildings, hospitals, schools, hotels, airports, and industrial facilities.
As an integral component of HVAC ventilation systems, the actuator controls the opening and closing of fire and smoke dampers during normal operation while automatically positioning dampers during fire emergencies to help prevent the spread of smoke and fire through ventilation ducts.
The BFN Series offers a comprehensive range of models to suit different building automation requirements. The BFN24, BFN24-ST, BFN24-T, and BFN24-T-ST models operate on 24 V AC/DC with On/Off control, while the BFN230 and BFN230-T models are designed for 230 V AC applications. For applications requiring proportional control, the BFN24-SR and BFN24-SR-T models provide modulating control, enabling precise integration with modern building management systems (BMS).
With an output torque of 7 Nm / 9 Nm, the BFN Series is suitable for a wide range of fire and smoke damper applications. The actuators feature a continuous hollow shaft compatible with 12 × 12 mm square shafts, allowing fast and secure installation on standard dampers.
The actuators typically operate in approximately 60 seconds, while the integrated mechanical spring return mechanism restores the damper to its fail-safe position in approximately 20 seconds during power loss, ensuring reliable life safety performance.
