The Belimo FSAFB Series Fire & Smoke Damper Actuators are engineered to provide precise proportional control and dependable fail-safe operation for fire and smoke dampers in HVAC life safety systems. Manufactured by Belimo USA, the FSAFB Series is designed to meet the requirements of UL555S fire and smoke control applications, making it an ideal solution for commercial buildings, hospitals, airports, data centers, and other critical facilities.
As part of an HVAC fire protection system, the actuator controls the opening and closing of fire and smoke dampers during normal ventilation while automatically returning the damper to its designated fail-safe position whenever power is interrupted. This rapid response helps contain smoke and fire within designated zones, supporting occupant safety and building protection.
The FSAFB24-SR and FSAFB24-SR-S models operate on 24 V AC/DC and feature modulating control, enabling precise proportional positioning for seamless integration with building management systems (BMS) and advanced smoke control strategies.
Delivering 20 Nm (180 in-lb) of output torque, the FSAFB Series is suitable for dampers up to approximately 18 ft² at 250°F (121°C). The actuator provides a 95° rotation angle and includes an integrated position indicator displaying the full operating range from 0° to 95°, allowing quick visual verification of damper status during commissioning and maintenance.
With an operating time of less than 75 seconds and a mechanical spring return time of less than 20 seconds, the FSAFB Series combines accurate modulation with dependable emergency operation. For new installations, the actuator is designed to comply with UL555S requirements for fire and smoke damper applications.
