The Belimo BF Series Fire & Smoke Damper Actuators are engineered to provide dependable operation of fire and smoke dampers in HVAC life safety systems. Manufactured by Belimo Switzerland, the global leader in HVAC actuator technology, the BF Series is widely used to protect occupants and property in commercial buildings, hospitals, schools, airports, hotels, and industrial facilities.
As part of a building's HVAC system, the actuator controls the opening and closing of fire and smoke dampers during both normal ventilation and emergency situations. By automatically positioning dampers as required, the BF Series helps limit the spread of smoke and fire through air ducts while supporting safe evacuation and building protection.
The BF Series includes a comprehensive range of models to accommodate different power supplies, control methods, and application requirements. Standard 24 V AC/DC models include BF24, BF24-ST, BF24-TN, and BF24-TN-ST for On/Off control, while BF24-SR and BF24-SR-TN provide modulating control. The BF230, BF230-TN, and BF230-TN/500 models are designed for 230 V AC applications.
Most BF Series actuators deliver 18 Nm / 12 Nm output torque, making them suitable for a wide range of standard fire and smoke damper installations. For applications requiring higher operating force, the BF24-C232, BF230-C134, and BF230-C232 models provide approximately 20 Nm torque together with integrated thermal sensors for enhanced fire protection performance.
Depending on the model, operating times range from approximately 60 to 150 seconds, while spring return closing occurs in as little as 16 to 30 seconds, providing reliable fail-safe operation for life safety systems. The actuators are compatible with 12 × 12 mm square damper shafts, allowing straightforward installation on standard fire and smoke dampers.
