The Yooksong Air Foam Chamber is a critical component of fixed foam fire protection systems, designed to discharge expanded firefighting foam into atmospheric storage tanks containing flammable liquids. Installed on the upper sidewall of storage tanks, the foam chamber introduces finished foam gently onto the liquid surface, allowing rapid fire suppression while preventing excessive turbulence that could spread burning fuel.

Air Foam Chambers are widely used to protect petroleum storage tanks, chemical storage tanks, fuel depots, refineries, petrochemical plants, and hazardous material storage facilities, where foam extinguishing systems are required to control Class B fires safely and efficiently.

Yooksong manufactures two deflector configurations to accommodate different storage tank designs:

• Cone Roof Tank (CRT) applications utilize the CRT Type-II deflector.
• Floating Roof Tank (FRT) applications use a specially designed FRT deflector optimized for floating roof installations.

The foam chamber body is internally treated with a phosphate coating to improve corrosion resistance and extend service life under demanding industrial environments. An optional drain connection can be provided to facilitate periodic inspection and maintenance.

A key safety feature of the Air Foam Chamber is its vapor seal glass, which is precisely manufactured to a controlled burst pressure. The vapor seal prevents flammable vapors from escaping through the foam piping while also preventing backflow from the storage tank. When foam solution is discharged during a fire event, the seal breaks at the designed pressure, allowing foam to enter the protected tank safely.

The vapor seal is designed with a burst pressure ranging from 0.7 to 1.75 barg, in accordance with KFI (Korea Fire Institute) requirements.

Available in multiple inlet and outlet configurations, the Air Foam Chamber supports discharge capacities ranging from 100 L/min to 2,000 L/min at 0.35 MPa, allowing engineers to select the appropriate model based on tank size and fire protection design requirements.
